About the Instructors
Yaozhang Pan
Data Science Lead, Shopee
Yaozhang is current the Data Science Lead at Shopee. She is leading the data science team working on a variety of projects to help improving user experience and optimizing ROI for the e-commerce platform.
Prior to Shopee, Yaozhang was a Data Science Lead at Grab. She was also a research scientist at GreenWave Systems Inc and Institute for Infocomm Research. Yaozhang received the Ph.D. degree from Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, and the B.Eng and the M.Eng degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology, China.
Her research interests include machine learning, pattern recognition, and statistical analysis. While her professional expertise focuses on application based data mining and analysis, and big data analysis in various platform and tools.
Eugene Yan Ziyou
Data Science Lead, Lazada
Passionate and experienced, with a delivery mindset. My mission is to use data to create positive impact and improve lives. Currently at Lazada working on product, user, and seller problems to improve the online shopping experience for users and sellers across Southeast Asia.
Outside of work, I pursue my mission as:
- Builder and writer at datagene.io, a set of APIs developed while exploring new techniques
- Organiser for DataScience SG, a community of over 3,000 data science professionals
- Volunteer for DataKind SG and helping NGOs tackle problems through data science
- Continuous learner of new technology and data science techniques
Yong Chang Yi
Business Intelligence Manager, Carousell
Chang Yi is currently the Business Intelligence Manager in Carousell where his role is to lead and coordinate the efforts to deliver high quality data and timely analytics/reporting for a data-driven organisation. With previous exposure in varied industries such as oil & gas, media and telecommunications and now e-commerce on both the business and technical ends of the spectrum, he believes in bridging the connection between data and business functions so that they can work together in unison to deliver superior business impact with data.
He also enjoys reading Quora and watching football in his free time.
Nikhil Sahai
Regional Head of Marketing Analytics, ZALORA
Forward focused on business analytics with Masters in Business Analytics from Singapore Management University and an engineering background in IT(Information Technology). More than 8 years of work experience in various domains such as e-commerce, retail, healthcare, pharma, insurance, and transport. Currently working on cross-device multi-touch attribution model, channel level budget allocation, catalog sorting and customer analytics across 6 regions (sg, hk, tw, my, id, ph).

Christel Bouvron
Head of Business Intelligence, Sephora
Christel Bouvron is Head of Business Intelligence at Sephora Asia, where she leads the company’s efforts in driving data-driven decision-making. She works with teams across the organization to measure their performance, as well as use data to solve challenges
She was previously Head of Analytics at Grab, where she led both Business and Product Analytics teams. Christel has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BA from the University of Notre Dame
