FAQs
#1 What if I’m not a developer?
Hackathons are generally meant for developers, but keep reading!
Designers are welcome, you can partner with developers on a project to help make it a reality with a good looking UI!
Social: We regularly need volunteers to help people meet each other, and form teams, if you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us
#2 When do I enter a team?
You don’t need to register a team right away. You can also post your ideas in our Discord server or the Facebook event page, and entice people to join up with you! Working in a team isn’t mandatory but it always helps! Team registration with idea submission opens a week before the event, and closes 30 minutes before coding starts! If you’re struggling to find a team, we can place you in one once you’ve got your ticket. Team sizes are 1 – 5 people.
#3 What should I bring?
Bring along a laptop, chargers, and anything else you might or want for overnight coding! If you’ve got ideas involving hardware, bring it along and let us know. Food, drinks and coffee will be provided, and there’s even a shower available (but you’ll probably need your own towel).
#4 What’s included with the ticket?
Your ticket entitles you to entry (of course), but you’ll also be getting breakfast, lunch & dinner. Drinks will be provided (coffee, refreshments, energy drinks and bottomless beer) and you’ll also get a bunch of swag!
#5 Do I need to stay overnight?
In a word, no, you can take shifts with your team members, or go home and come back in the morning for the 8am breakfast session. We’d recommend staying as we’ll have workshops, mentor sessions, breaks and everything you need to keep going for the win!
#6 If I create something, who OWNS the IP?
You and your team own whatever you create. We only ask you to share what you can on Github for the benefit of the community.
