DevOps on the Google Cloud Platform
13 March 2015 (Friday), we will have special speakers, Google Cloud Developer Advocates flying in from Japan and Google Cloud Platform’s Product Management and Engineering teams from the Mountain View office. They will talk about some of the latest releases, Firebase and Cloud Dataflow as well as give their perspective on how you can deploy and operate on Google Cloud Platform.
Understand how you can script repeatable deployments at ease in the cloud and learn how Containers and Kubernetes are shaping the next generation of cloud applications.
We hope to see you there.
Agenda
16:30-17:30 Real-time Mobile Development with Firebase & Big Data Processing with Cloud Dataflow by Kazunori Sato & Ian Lewis, Google Cloud Platform Developer Advocates
* Get an introduction to Firebase which is a realtime API that lets you store and sync data instantly. Firebase also works offline, so your apps can be responsive even without an internet connection.
* Cloud Dataflow is a Big Data solution that changes the way programmers approach big data problems. Rather than being constrained by the size of the data set, developers can focus on defining the key bits of intelligence they were seeking and find it from an almost infinite pool of data.
17:30-18:15 DevOps in the Cloud by Rae Wang, Product Manager, Google Cloud Platform
* Scripting repeatable deployments
* High Availability at ease
18:15-18:45 Google Deployment Manager by Chris Crall, Technical Program Manager, Google Cloud Platform
18:45-19:00 BREAK
19:00-20:00 Containers, the future of cloud computing by Ville Aikas, Engineering Manager
* Running containers on Google Compute Engine
* Cluster management with Kubernetes
20:00-20:05 CLOSE
